ZURICH: AN INTRODUCTION

Zurich is considered to be the New Berlin in terms of cool cities of the world. What was once a former banking capital of the world, is now going through a real creative explosion in the last decade, with lots of hip cool and trendy bars, slick restaurants and stylish shops, this really reflects the salad days of Berlin during the early nineties.
One can borrow a bicycle for free for the entire day and cycle round admiring all the lovely chocolate shops, and also visit all the art galleries and also the beautiful lakeside setting which is quite beautiful. The pedestrian streets are also very attractive.

The population of Zurich is about 350,000 and the main language in this great city is German. Zurich has a very rich history and has lots of reminders of the past. With over 20 museums and around 95 art galleries, 25 archives, the city has retained a lot of its heritage intact and should be really proud of this achievement. There is also an archive devoted to Thomas Mann. There are great historic buildings, religious monuments and the quays are a delight to walk along with their splendid promenades are thought to be one of Zurich’s most popular attractions and should not be missed. The Limmatquai (quay) starts at the Bahnhof bridge and goes the whole way to the Rathaus (Town Hall). Some other quays have nice gardens.
