The Bauerkliplatz Flea Market is the place to go if its a cuckoo clock you are searching for to buy for your folks back home. From antiques to even old style mountain climbing equipment, you will spend hours rummaging about looking for God knows what. There are lots of food stalls to keep you energised throughout the day.

The Kanzlei Flea Market is about 12 minutes from the city centre by foot and the younger arty crowd come here for all sorts of bargain hunting. From second hand music records to mountains of second hand clothes, bikes, antiques, books, and gifts to keep you searching for the perfect holiday present. This Flea Market is on every Saturday and is very popular. There are cafes and wine bars in the vicinity to help you relax and talk shop about your amazing purchases. There is also a very comfortable cinema nearby that has many independent international films.

The well known store called Beyer concentrates on selling jewellery and classy watches. The Time Tunnel clothing store sell old vintage styles from the 60s and 70s and this fashion always comes back into fashion every few years. Worth a look. The Clock shop called Uhren Bijouterie is now world famous for the special cuckoo clocks it sells in its window. Also worth a browse through.

Top class shopping is to be had in Bahnhof Strasse. The street is world famous and has lots of rich Swiss banks located here, where the gold and silver vaults are practically lying under the footpath. The street was built on the site of the old city walls which were demolished over 150 years ago.
