FESTIVALS AND EVENTS IN ZURICH
| There is a spring festival and parade to liven up the city around
the 3rd Monday of April and the fest is named as Sechseleuten.
During the Zurich Frischt which is held at the start of July every
3 years (the next one is in July 2007), where the fireworks is
amazing and there is a huge fairground in the centre of Zurich
to keep the children entertained. The Zuricher Festspiele is held from the 15th of June to the 15th of July and concentrates on the Music and Arts in the city, with special emphasis on ballet, concerts and opera, and also some lively theatrical acts. There is also a festival to celebrate the great theatre and lots of drama and shows abound around this time. The National day of Switzerland is August the first and the city puts on a grand fireworks display. Street parades take place in early August with drums and trumpets, as well as an electric music event with cool DJs on hand to man the decks. In early September one can enjoy the Jazz Week which is attracting international Jazz musicians from all corners of the world. There is a festival known as Expovina which is held in November on boats near the Bauerkliplatz which dishes out great wines and there are musicians and processions take place throughout the city with the locals dressed in great costumes.
